Acceptable Use & Usage Guidelines
Last updated: June 16, 2026
1. Introduction & Scope
PocketClients Pages ("PocketPages") lets a service professional publish a public profile page and receive enquiries ("leads") from visitors. These guidelines explain how the feature may be used.
They apply to the professional who creates and publishes a page (the "Publisher", "you") and, where noted, to the visitors who submit leads. They form part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If anything here conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service govern.
2. Intended Use
PocketPages is intended for legitimate solo and small service businesses to present their business and capture genuine client enquiries.
- Publish one page per real business you operate.
- Represent your business accurately and honestly.
- Use the page as a marketing and contact tool — it is not a system of record for bookings, payments, or contracts.
3. You Are the Publisher
You own and are solely responsible for everything on your page and for every interaction that results from it. PocketClients provides the tool; it is not a party to your relationship with your clients and does not endorse, vet, or guarantee any Publisher or their services.
You are responsible for ensuring your page, your claims, and your conduct comply with all laws that apply to your business and to the place where you operate.
4. Local Law, Licensing & Regulated Claims
Laws governing trades and service businesses vary widely by country, state/province, and municipality. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules that apply to you. Depending on your jurisdiction and trade, this may include:
- Holding any licence, permit, certification, or registration required to offer your services, and displaying licence or registration numbers where the law requires it.
- Making only truthful "licensed", "insured", "bonded", or "certified" claims — and only where they are current and verifiable.
- Complying with industry-specific regulations (for example electrical, gas, plumbing, food handling, childcare, or health-related work).
- Following local advertising and consumer-protection rules.
- Displaying a business number or tax registration where mandated.
- Making any jurisdiction-specific disclosures required of your trade.
If you are unsure what applies to you, consult your local regulator or a qualified advisor before publishing. PocketClients does not provide legal advice.
5. Truthful & Fair Advertising
- Do not make false, misleading, or exaggerated claims about your services, qualifications, pricing, or availability.
- Reviews and testimonials must be genuine and from real clients.
- Portfolio and before/after images must show your own work.
6. Intellectual Property & Imagery
- Upload only content you own or are licensed to use.
- Do not use third-party logos, trademarks, or brand names without permission, and respect the licence terms of any stock photos.
- Obtain your client’s consent before publishing photos of their property or completed job.
7. Lead Capture & Visitor Data
When a visitor submits a lead, they entrust you with personal information (such as their name, phone number, and email). You must handle it lawfully and responsibly.
- Use lead information only to respond to that person’s enquiry.
- Do not add people to marketing lists or send unsolicited messages without the consent the law requires.
- Comply with the anti-spam and data-protection laws that apply to you and to your visitors (for example CASL in Canada, CAN-SPAM and TCPA in the United States, and the GDPR/ePrivacy rules where applicable).
- Keep lead data only as long as you need it, and honor requests to access or delete it.
See our Privacy Policy for how PocketClients itself handles the data that flows through the lead form.
8. Prohibited Uses & Content
You may not use PocketPages to publish or promote:
- Illegal goods or services, or regulated services you are not licensed to provide.
- Adult, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or fraudulent content.
- Impersonation of another business or person.
- Malware, phishing, scams, or other harmful activity.
You also may not create fake or duplicate pages, or sell, rent, or transfer your page to someone else.
9. Fair Use of the Platform
- Do not scrape the service, use bots, or flood the lead form with automated or junk submissions.
- Do not attempt to bypass subscription gating or access controls.
- Choose a username in good faith — no squatting on names you do not use and no impersonation. The username may be changed at most once every 30 days.
- Use the service in a way that does not place an unreasonable load on it.
10. Publishing, Subscription & Availability
- Publishing your page and receiving leads require an active PocketClients subscription or trial.
- You can unpublish or pause your page at any time and republish later while your subscription is active.
- The service is provided on a best-effort basis; we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
11. Enforcement & Takedowns
Anyone can report a page using the "Report this page" link in its footer, or by emailing support@pocketclients.com.
We may unpublish, suspend, or remove a page, and take action on the associated account, if we reasonably believe these guidelines or our Terms of Service have been violated.
12. Disclaimers & Liability
PocketClients is not responsible for the services you provide, for the accuracy of your page, or for any dispute between you and a visitor or client. Service is provided "as is", subject to the disclaimers and limitations of liability in our Terms of Service.
13. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use of PocketPages after a change means you accept the updated guidelines.
